In June this year, a team of 60 from Brooks Macdonald will be attempting the ‘Around the Island Walk’, a gruelling one-day, 48 mile walk around Jersey.

We will be supporting United Through Sport ('UTS') to fund disadvantaged children through education in South Africa. UTS offer children sports coaching to develop life skills; health education to increase awareness of HIV/AIDs; as well as academic classes.

It costs £250 to fund a child to go through the programme for a year. This is our minimum target per person, in the hope that we will be able to fund at least 60 children through the programme, though of course we are hoping to raise significantly more!

In addition to this, the Brooks Macdonald Foundation have agreed tol match the first £200 of each team member’s fundraising, with these amounts donated to local Jersey charities including Acorn, The Jersey Childcare Trust, Jersey National Park and 9 others.

This will be my first attempt at the "Around the Island Walk and I would like to play my part and raise as much as I can for each of these very worthy causes.
