Story
My team at Wyevale in the South West decided it was my turn to do some running about , so completing the Minch 10k in support of Marie Curie , the charity that we at Wyevale are supporting , was a simple decision.
So on Sunday 10th March I will get my trainers on and with virtually no preparation will set off - I can assure you it is going to hurt so please help make it all worth while. Every £ really will help to make a significant difference to so many people.
Marie Curie are here for people living with any terminal
illness, and their families. We offer expert care, guidance and support to help
people get the most from the time they have left. Marie Curie Nurses work night
and day, in people’s homes across the UK, providing hands-on care and vital
emotional support. We have nine hospices across the UK who offer the
reassurance of specialist care and support, in a friendly, welcoming
environment, for people living with a terminal illness and their loved ones
–whether staying in the hospice, or just coming in for the day.
In 2014, Wyevale Garden Centres chose Marie Curie as their
charity partner and have been fundraising ever since to raise vital funds to
support our nurses and hospices. So far, Wyevale Garden Centres have raised an
incredible £2.1million for Marie Curie but there is still more support needed.
1 in 4 people still don’t get the care and support they need at the end of
their life. The money raised ensures that Marie Curie Nurses can provide
much-needed care to people living with a terminal illness in their own homes.
Just £20 is enough to fund one hour of Marie Curie nursing care for someone
facing a terminal illness.
