Event: Guy's and St. Thomas' Charity - MPD Support Abseil, on 27 June 2010

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 27th June I will be attempting to abseil 34 storeys down Guy's Tower, the world's tallest hospital tower, in order to raise money for the MPD Support Charity, a UK charity registered under the auspices of the Guy's and St Thomas' Charity.

Myeloproliferative disorders cause the body to produce too many or sometimes too few blood cells - these diseases are in fact cancers that affect people of all ages from children to people in the prime of life including a good friend who is a parent of three like me.. These disorders cause debilitating fatigue, blood clots, heart attacks, strokes and increase the risk of leukaemia.

It is my aim to raise atleast £1000 to help MPD support sufferers. If you would like to help me achieve this target or simply like the idea of me throwing myself from a very tall building, then I would really appreciate your support.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity. So please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you for your support.

About the charity

MPN Voice leads the way in supporting people with rare blood cancers called Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPNs), with accurate information and emotional support. We're funding research toward better treatments and one day a cure. Most importantly we offer hope to those affected by MPNs.
