Story
This summer I am going to spend 6 weeks in Soweto, South Africa, teaching maths as part of Warwick in Africa, a philanthropically funded programme that aims to enhance the education of young people in Africa in order to liberate them from poverty.
Since its creation in 2006, Warwick in Africa has benefited over 160,000 children. The impact of the programme has been outstanding, with the average improvement in test performance being over 40%.
However, none of this would be possible without all of the work that goes into fundraising for Warwick in Africa. The volunteers themselves are expected to raise at least £500 towards the ongoing development of the programme, and this is where your help is needed! As of last year, the project's organisers achieved their aim of teaching learners directly for £10 per learner per month, and with Warwick University covering all the administration costs, you can assure yourself that all of your donation is spent where it is needed most!To find out more, including promotional videos by Lenny Henry and George Alagiah, please visit: http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/giving/priority/responsibility/wina/
Please give all you can to this very worthwhile and inspiring cause.
