As last year, I’ll be cycling through mid-Surrey, starting and finishing at St Mary’s Ewell on my trusty e-bike. The 40-mile route initially takes us east to Cheam, then south to Banstead and Tadworth and on to Dorking via Headley then returning heading west to Bookham via Westhumble, then on to Bookham, Leatherhead, Ashtead and Epsom. There are 44 churches and a fair few hills on our route!

The wonderful church of St Mary’s was built in 1848. It has a fabulous Willis organ which is regularly used for concerts as well as church music so, as you can imagine, it needs lots of maintenance and it’s expensive!
