Story

THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH to all of you for your generous donations.

WE DID IT!!!!!!  STARTED 05:30 in the rain.....FINISHED 21:30 - 16 HOURS in total

46M IN 14 HRS walking - averaging 3.3 MPH - 74KM - 5.3KPH ave.

I do have to say we all felt rather ill when we finished, and walking normally was not easy having stopped. Not so bad today- BUT IT WAS WORTH IT.

WE WOULD NOT HAVE FELT THE LEVEL OF ACHIEVEMENT WITHOUT YOUR SUPPORT AND COULD NOT NOT HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT THE BACKUP FROM THE FAMILIES. THEY WERE FAB!!! They were always there at the next stop with water, food & encouragement. Not to mention clean socks, linament and plasters. THE HOME-COOKED FOOD WAS GREAT.

As most of you know, Marion had her Heart Transplant at Papworth Hospital on
31 August last year, and her sister Joy had her new heart 13 years ago this September 10th.

PLEASE, IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO SPONSOR US FOR OUR 46 MILE WALK
FOR PAPWORTH COMPLETED ON SATURDAY, 25TH JUNE ALONG THE PEDDARS WAY.

I  walked with Joy's daughter, Julie, and her husband James.
We started out at 5.30 on Saturday morning from Holme next the Sea in North Norfolk,
and  finished 21:30 at Knettishall Heath near Thetford in Norfolk.
We were joined for part of the walk by other family members,
including Joy's daughter Claire and her husband Jeremy,
together with their sons Ryan (10) and Sam (7), as well as James's brothers & nephews & nieces. Andy (12) did 20 miles off the cuff!!
plus of course, our dog Zak and Claire's dog Holly.
Ryan completed 10 miles
Sam and his mum Claire did 6.
Jeremy chewed up 18 + miles as well as a load of driving etc.
Marion walked 6 + miles plus a few more on her bike.
Zak did 14miles in shifts.
The other dogs did quite a few as well.

Our main support crew was Joy and Gordon and Marion, plus Claire, Jeremy & the boys who provided us with cooked breakfast, lunch and snacks.

Since the Transplant, she has been extremely well for over 8 months, but is currently experiencing a bit of a blip which has meant another short stay in hospital.
We are waiting on more test results and are hopeful she will be back in top form soon.

We send our love and best wishes to you all -
Any amount of Sponsorship will be most appreciated.
