We‘re the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research. We fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Story

Last year, my Aunt Jen lost her battle with cancer. She fought hard till the end to defeat this horrible, indiscriminate disease, and unfortunately, it was all too much. She was my fantastic, mad and crazy Aunt, as well as an incredible Mum, Sister and Daughter.

But all too often, her story is the same as so many others around the world. Cancer is accountable for 28% of deaths in the UK. By the time you have taken 10 minutes to review this page, read my story and hopefully make a donation, 3 more people would have lost their battles.

So, I'm doing my bit to help beat this disease. Not only for Jen, but for everyone in my life and everyone's lives who have lost their battle, won their battle and continue to battle cancer. I'm hoping my little contribution will aid everyone's battle in the future and reduce the number of people who not only have cancer, but those that are affected by its impact.

On July 7th, i will be attempting to hump 35lbs of weight, and my somewhat substantial frame, up and down Pen Y Fan as part of the Fan Dance Race. A course normally completed during Special Forces Selection stages, covering 24km and climbing a total of 2km! I will be doing regular updates whilst training in the run up to the event.

Why i hear you scream? I'm fortunate working for Stryker that we have technology to help aid our amazing healthcare professionals to help treat cancer, but what they really need is funding for research to help cure cancer. The money i raise for completing this event will go to Cancer Research UK in the hope it makes just a tiny impact in helping eradicate this disease.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and any contribution you can make will have an impact on our fight with cancer.

Thank you.
