This year at Northern Ireland Children's Hospice we cared for over 370 children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, in both our inpatient unit - Horizon House and in the local community. We rely on your generous donations to continue to fund our vital services.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and supporting my breath-taking challenge!

As many of you may know, I am not good with heights. I was absolutely dreading going up in the lift in the Europa Hotel, Belfast, because I knew there was only one way down, and its not on the inside! That's what made this such a terrifying challenge for me. There is only one reason I did this - to raise much needed funds for Northern Ireland Children's Hospice.  On Sunday 13th February, I put my fear to one side and stepped off the roof of the Europa, and abseiled down for 130ft.

This is a very special year for Children's Hospice, being exactly 10 years since Horizon House was built.  We now care for over 250 life-limited children and their families each year and really need the support of the community to maintain our services of care and support to families across Northern Ireland.  Any donation you can make to my 'once in a lifetime' challenge (and it will be once in a life time!) will be so greatly appreciated and really will make a huge difference at the Children's Hospice.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to Children's Hospice and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.

Thank you so much for your support. It was definitely a challenge but well worth it. And I can't believe I'm actually smiling in the, even if it is a look of terror!
