Ride Across Britain · 6 September 2014 to 14 September 2014 ·

Sightsavers' vision is of a world where no one is blind from avoidable causes and where visually impaired people participate equally in society.

Story

969 miles in 9 days. Cycling from Lands end to John O'Groats via every intervening mountain. It's going to be really, really horrible. It's the Ride Across Britain.

Or the ride across as much as Britain as we manage before the inevitable messy end.

To provide meaning to what would otherwise be a pointless sacrifice, we are raising money to end avoidable blindness. Just £30 will literally make a blind person in Africa or Asia see. A simple operation and someone's life is transformed.

We want to make a blind person see for every one of the 969 miles of hell we are about to traverse.

£150 will make five people see, £300 ten. (You can work out the rest)

So how many will you do?
