Story
- The great thing about this page is it accomplishes two goals of mine at once. Firstly, and most importantly, I am keen for you to support the wonderful charity Dandelion Time, founded by my inspiring mum Dr Caroline Jessel. Secondly with the onset of my mid-30s, I want to regularly do much more exercise. If my experience is any thing to go by, you need to do much more exercise when your metabolism slows down!
- Yet joking aside, I love the charity not just because of my family involvement, but because it revolves around contacting troubled children to animals and has been shown to have marked improvements in young lives.
- This is how the charity - Kent Messenger Charity of the Year 2016 - describes itself: "The children Dandelion Time works with have often been affected by the harshest personal circumstances, having been traumatised by experiences, (such as physical or sexual abuse, domestic violence).
- "The emotional landscape for these children is often bleak, their difficulties culminating repeated exclusions or refusal to engage at school, and a breakdown in relationships at home. The charity works with children between the ages of 7 to 16 to help them overcome these issues. The families Dandelion Time works with are often struggling with several health and social issues, and it is dedicated to helping the whole family to start to overcome their difficulties – this work has consistently helped highly troubled children and families overcome trauma and lead more positive lives."
- If you can donate I am sure your money will be doing that extra bit of good for the world.
