Tom's Head for Change: Rugby Ride Challenge 2021

Head for Change: Rugby Ride Challenge 2021 · 15 February 2021
This year marks 5 years since I had an accident playing rugby aged 16. I underwent open heart surgery and two brain surgeries, which resulted in me having a hypoxic brain injury. The charity Head For Change aims to improve the safety of players and bring together players with brain injuries. I think unless you are living with a brain injury it is difficult to appreciate how tough it is. I am taking part in the cycle challenge to raise money for Head for Change as I want to do something positive to make rugby safer. I hope I can also be an example of how important it is not to give up and keep pushing yourself to be stronger. I also hope to do other fitness challenges in the future.
