Tom's 30km Around The House

30km Around The House · 12 May 2021
Due to the nature of living with so many people under one roof we've found ourselves self-isolating for the third time. To mark the end of this third period of 10 days of isolation I will be running 30 kilometres around the perimeter of our house in Wimbledon - 1 kilometre per day of isolation. The 30km run will take place on Wednesday 12th May.
My run will be in aid for Dons Local Action Group, who have been doing great work in Wimbledon & the local area since the start of the pandemic. They have so far provided over 150,000 food boxes, 175+ pieces of furniture and appliances and 1,900+ laptops and tablets across the boroughs of Merton, Wandsworth and Kingston. Working with local councils, and with more than 100 aid agencies making referrals, they are providing crucial assistance to people who find themselves in need.
"The last year has been challenging for so many. Out of the shared sense of uncertainty and upheaval came the Dons Local Action Group, with the simple aim to help those in need in our local communities. We began providing food packages to those who were suddenly shielding, then refurbishing laptops for kids with no access to online learning, DLAG soon went on to become the go-to for helping those in poverty, in need of food, furniture, household equipment, digital devices and more across the boroughs of Merton, Wandsworth and Kingston."
