40 Along the Thames

40 Along the Thames · 19 March 2016
On 19 March an elite group of Control Risks employees will set out on a non-stop 40 mile walk along the Thames to celebrate 40 years of Control Risks and raise money for Central London Samaritans.
Starting at dawn in Teddington we will walk along the south bank of the river – through Central London and past the Cottons Centre – to the 40 mile point in Erith.
We will be walking, come rain or shine, for up to 15 hours! So please support us in this endeavour by donating anything you can spare to Central London Samaritans.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the organisation, Samaritans offers support to people who are struggling to cope through whichever means of communication they feel most comfortable using, including telephone, email, text message and face to face. We offer essential human contact to some of the most marginalized and isolated individuals in London, and our mission is to alleviate emotional distress and reduce the incidence of suicidal behaviour.
I am proud to volunteer for a branch whose phone-lines have been continuously open for more than 60 years, day and night. However, to ensure that this valuable service is able to survive in the heart of Soho and meet increasing demand, we urgently need generous donations from the public.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
