I’ve waited for years for the chance to do this race and I know it’s going to be really tough going. In the open sea Small boat, unpredictable weather and sea conditions. At times I’ll be elated at others cold wet hungry and regretting the moment I stepped on board. At these points I’ll be uplifted in the knowledge that my being out there is contributing to support the futures of the students at the Batemans school.

Thanks everyone for your very generous support. We finished the race on Wednesday am, after a tough 3 nights at sea in strong winds and pretty big seas. Knowing there were lots of supporters on shore following the race and our progress was great and especially helpful to think that the cold, nauseous exhaustion was helping raise some money for a great cause. A great team effort from everyone on board and I am very pleased to have at last completed this iconic race.
