Story
For those of you who know me you will know that I am pretty mad about climbing. I’m always trying to climb something whether it be indoors on the climbing wall, down at the local crag, or somewhere high in the Alps. Me and my friend Phil have decided to try and climb Mont Blanc, although we have done lots of climbing in this area before this time it will be different, normally when you go the Alps to climb high you need time for your body to adjust to the altitude and acclimatise properly. Climbers trying to climb Mont Blanc will spend at least a week acclimatising and getting their body ready for the altitude before an attempt on the mountain….but we aren’t normal, we are going to try and fly from the UK on a Friday the 8th of October climb it and back home for roast dinner on Sunday. For those of you that have been to this altitude before you will know how impossible and stupid this sounds but aye what the hell…
Recently we lost a very special person in this world to cancer, Carli McKinnon, who was a wonderful person that always put others before herself and always managed to put a smile on every ones face before her own. Although I wasn’t a close friend to Carli I did grow up around her family and friends so we were all quite close. The fact that Carli has been taken from us has effected us all deeply and my thoughts are with her family and friends, and how well they are managing to carry on and keep her memory alive.
I have put this page together to see if I can help raise some money for the Eden ward at Wexham Park hospital as they did an amazing job in looking after Carli throughout her illness.
So everyone can you please help me raise some money towards the Eden ward to show our appreciation to them for all there hard work and also to help, if not prevent, others from having to go through the loss that all of us have had.
In return you can think of me going through hell trying to get to the top of that mountain…..
