Wheels for Wellbeing encourages and supports disabled people to cycle. We run regular cycle sessions using a wide range of 2,3 and 4 wheeled cycles and provide 1-1 lessons for people who want to learn to ride a bicycle or improve their skills so they can ride on the road with confidence.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

[Tony] Many of you will know that I've been cycling regularly for a few years now - both in London and now also in Cambridge. Cycling is a fast and inexpensive way to get around, whether that's to work, to the shops, or to visit friends. It is also a form of exercise that fits into my daily routine, rather than just being P.E. without a gym teacher.

I'm lucky though - there are many people whose physical or mental disabilities make it ordinarily impractical, painful or unaffordable for them to cycle.

Wheels for Wellbeing ( http://www.wheelsforwellbeing.org.uk/ ), based in South London, provide a variety of standard and assistive cycles - such as handcycles, cycles with footplates, and side-by-side tandems - for people of all ages to help them enjoy the health and independence benefits of cycling. They provide advice and support, and run regular  off-road cycle sessions to bring people with a desire for independent mobility together.

Wheels for Wellbeing also help to lead the "Cycling for All" project ( http://cyclingforall.org/ ) to increase cycling opportunities throughout London.

My workplace, ARM, have pledged to match your sponsorship up to £500, through the TeamARM fundraising group.
