Well we both did it, it was a lovely day quite sunny but with a cool breeze - perfect running conditions and some great sights along the way, the Louvre, Bastille, Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower and the start and finish at the Arc De Triomphe. Rachel clocked a PB {in her 1st marathon!} of 4.30 and I was pleased with 3.45. Many thanks again to all those who have donated and sponsored us, the response we have received has been over whelming and we have surpassed our target by some distance.  

Well only five days to go now, really looking forward to it, we are having a quiet week resting up so we will hopefully be refreshed for the big day, many many thanks to all who have donated, we have been amazed at the response and are delighted to have already surpassed our target. Tony Holt and Rachel Armfield are running the Paris Marathon on 11th April 2011, we chose this event for the fundraising effort because we couldn't get a place in the London Marathon and if you are doing a marathon, it might as well be a big one! We have funded the trip ourselves so all money donated will go directly to the charity.

The Children's Burns Foundation is the charity which supports the 'Burns Camps' which many of you in the Fire Service have been involved with. These camps are only possible due to charitable donations and volunteer's time.

Rachel has been involved in the charity from the outset, helping to establish the children's burns foundation after working with children at the burn camps and being amazed by the differences that just one week can make to their self-esteem and confidence.
