Jail & Bail · 21 October 2011

St Gemma's Hospice is a local, independent charity providing the best possible care and support for people in Leeds with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. We support patients and their families, both in the Hospice and in the community, at any stage of their illness.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Many of you have probably come across our very chatty Sales Manager, Tony Minns, at some point....well he is taking part in St Gemma's Hospice's forthcoming Jail & Bail event.

On the morning of Friday 21st October, the 'criminal' who is Tony Minns, will be 'arrested' by 2 Police officers for his crime in the workplace which is ---- talking too much!

He will be taken to Leeds Town Hall where he will be tried and sentenced by the 'Judge' in the Courtroom. Spectators are more than welcome to go and watch Tony be sent down!!

Of course Tony will be found Guilty and be taken down to the old Victorian cells and 'locked up' after having his mug shot taken by the local press. These cells are genuine cells which accomodated real life criminals up until 1905.

To ensure Tony's early release, £500 minimum bail money has to be raised. Tony will be trying to raise money on the day with only his mobile phone and address book to hand, but I think we need all the help we can get to free this chatterbox!!

Once evidence of the pledges has been seen and approved, Tony will be released where he will be able to enjoy a glass of bubbly before being transported back to work.

This will be a fun experience for both Tony (if he gets released that is!) and for everyone at TWO Services. Money raised will go to fund the care and services that St Gemma's Hospice provide for local people with terminal illnesses. It costs around £8 million to fund the hospice, with the majority of this being raised by the hospice themselves through initiatives such as Jail & Bail.
