Story

Thank you so much for taking the time out to visit my JustGiving page.

Well, at almost 6000m above sea level...I stood triumphant. At approximately 8.25am on the 1st of October 2015 I reached the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro, Uhuru Peak - the roof of Africa. I can't believe I actually made it, it seems like a dream to me now. You can only prepare for so much when embarking on a journey such as this,..in the end it came down to good old determination, I wasn't going to be beaten,...and I wasn't. It was beautiful, other worldly, exciting, bizarre an adventure of pure discovery and also.........relentless hell.

I wouldn't change a thing.

A massive and eternal thank you to all who donated to this cause and helped me achieve my goal.

I've never been one to do things by halves and frequently push myself out of any comfort zone. So, when the opportunity to climb Kilimanjaro came my way I couldn't understand why I had never attempted this before...and then I remembered,...time, money, MASSIVELY out of all comfort zones and therefore too much of a challenge perhaps?  all kinds of circumstances...(excuses). However, this Kilimanjaro challenge is combined with the opportunity to raise money for a local charity so, the fire was lit and the procrastination was benched.

With the many miles to conquer and the possibility of an altitude sickness battle in mind. At the end of September this year, hopefully I will find myself in Tanzania Africa, bricking it and about to embark on a 6 day trek up Kilimanjaro.

Any donation you can spare would be greatly appreciated.
