Story
I've always said that I'd never run a marathon... and I'm sort of sticking to that by walking one instead!
On the 22nd July I will be taking part in the Football March for Men and walking 26 miles in support of Prostate Cancer UK.
A staggering 1 in 8 men in the UK will get prostate cancer. It is the most common cancer in men, with 129 men being diagnosed every day.
It's not widely discussed, it's difficult to detect and many men experience mild or no symptoms. However, if diagnosed in the early stages then almost all men survive for five years or more. Prostate Cancer UK support men who are living with prostate cancer, help them secure the best treatment for their personal situation and are also working with other organisations to research more effective ways of diagnosing, treating and preventing prostate cancer. Their research will change the lives of so many men.
Prostate cancer has affected some of the people I know and love the most in the world, so when one of my best friend’s asked if I would join her in walking a marathon to raise money and awareness for Prostate Cancer UK I didn't hesitate and signed up straight away.
I am hugely grateful for any amount you are able to donate. However large or small, it will make a huge difference.
Thank you 🚹💙
