The Edale Mountain Rescue Team (EMRT) is a Registered Charity providing a Search and Rescue Service for the moorland and upland areas of the Peak District National Park. It is staffed entirely by unpaid volunteers and is self funding.

Story

On Saturday, 10th June 2023 Totley AC are attempting a unique achievement of having at least one of our club members on the top of each of the 95 Ethels in the Peak District.

We have over 80 people who’ve committed to help make this ambitious aim a reality. Our members and their families will be doing a variety of routes from short walks with children to long days out running and reaching several peaks.
Ethels are hills in Peak District named after Ethel Haythornthwaite the conservationist and champion of the Peak District.
We’re hoping to raise £1000 or more for Edale Mountain Rescue who keep walkers, runners and everyone who takes part in outdoor activities safe. Mountain Rescue are here to help and rescue any of us who may get into difficulties on the hills.
Any donations are gratefully received and will help keep mountain rescue going.
