Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. Wimpy UK has chosen Mind, the leading mental health charity in England and Wales, as its Charity Partner of the Year.
Many Wimpy employees nationwide are focussing on a raft of fundraising events during the year, with the goal of raising a minimum of £25,000.
The Tough Mudder Half is one of a series of challenges the Wimpy family will work extra hard to complete and hope to raise lots of money for Mind in the process.
Twenty staff members will be dusting down their trainers and flexing their muscles to prove they are Not So Wimpy when it comes to tackling the 5 miles of mud and 13 epic obstacles specifically designed to test teamwork and toughness.
Chris Woolfenden, Wimpy UK general manager, will be leading his fellow Mudders on the day. "We are honoured to be working with Mind, which plays such an important role in raising awareness of mental health issues and making sure that advice and support is there for those who need it,” said Chris.
“Wimpy has a long tradition of being at the heart of local communities, we are proud to have generations of customers and their families visiting our restaurants regularly. If, through this partnership, we can help even one family, individual or member of staff, to access the help they need, then it will be a job well done.”
Rebecca Hastings, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Mind, said: “We are delighted Wimpy staff have chosen Mind as their Charity of the Year. This partnership will help us to reach a point where anyone with a mental health problem feels able to ask for, and access, the help they need. Money raised will help fund our vital work including our Mind Infoline, information and advice services, and our campaigning to ensure everyone who has a mental health problem gets support and
respect.”
