*UPDATE - after a slightly unplanned pause, I've borrowed a bike, gained a trusty pal and together we've got a destination to reach. I started this journey to raise money and awareness for the incredible work of IJM and your donations and encouragement so far has made me determined to finish what I started. So...HERE WE GO - Mim's Tour de Freedom 2.0*

I've learnt in the last few months that graduating in the middle of a pandemic might mean that your post-uni plans don't always work out in the way you might have first hoped. With the job I got training to be a social worker being deferred to a July 2021 start date, it seems I've been unexpectedly gifted with a little bit of time.

I guess this means that there's no better time than now to decided to cycle the length of the UK - Land's End to John O'Groats - 1500km

Such a big task needs a pretty big purpose and so I'll be raising money for a wonderful charity called International Justice Mission (IJM) as part of their #JustRide campaign -seeing cycling bring freedom.

IJM are the world largest anti-slavery organisation who rescue and restore people trapped in slavery and other forms of violence. I love their mission to ensure that children are not found in brothels, brick kilns or on fishing boats but in playgrounds and classrooms, places all children should be! I've set a pretty big target of £5000 and I know it'll be a big ask but I'd love it if this one little ride across the UK could fund a whole  rescue operation somewhere else in the world.
