In memory of our Moms passing on Saturday 21st November 2020 we would like to raise funds for a Dementia Charity (Dementia Navigators, Crossroads Caring for Carers) that supported our Mom and Sheila through the final months of her condition and life.

Moms Funeral is on Monday 21st December 2020 and instead of flowers we respectfully ask that donations are made to this very worthwhile organisation.

A message from Sheila

Mom and I joined this group in 2019 (formally known as DISC), when she was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia. I found a lifeline when I discovered the group. We attended the group meetings , coordinated by Tirath Kaur. Having that weekly contact and knowing there was someone I could talk to on a personal basis at the group took away some of my anxieties.

I received the emotional support I desperately needed at the time. Both my mom  and I looked forward to attending. We enjoyed taking part in the wide range of activities.

Since Covid, we were no longer able to meet in the groups, however the support was still there and has continued since my Mom passed away.

We hope you can give to this very worthy cause in memory of our Mom.

Thank you

Tracey, Sheila and Shirley xxx

About the charity

Crossroads Caring for Carers provides a wide range of community care services across Sandwell, Birmingham, Walsall, Wolverhampton and surrounding areas. In Dudley we provide wellbeing services to adult carers, young adult carers (aged 18 -25) and young carers (up to the age of 18) who care for a family member. We help informal carers to care for longer by providing practical support, training, respite and palliative care, improving the health and well-being of carers and those they care for. We also offer personalised in-home care to support with daily living needs, enabling people with complex needs to remain in their own home for longer. This can be provided alongside social care services or funded by the person themselves or their family. In addition, we provide services in Sandwell and Birmingham to support carers of people with memory issues or a dementia diagnosis.
