Those who know me - know I love a challenge and even better one with meaning. This year marks 100 years of Women in Policing and I thought it would be a fantastic opportunity to combine one of my loves - Cycling with a spot of fundraising for an amazing charity and one that serves another one of my passions “family”. 

This one is going to be a rather emotional challenge as well as physical - I have been honoured with the task of cycling in honour of one of my former colleagues WPC Gail Pirnie - who 2 years into my service passed away on duty - whilst I was on duty - a day I recall like it was yesterday. 26th October 1994 Gail collapsed whilst at work but despite being surrounded by colleagues who made every effort to revive her she died leaving a huge hole in the hearts of West Hendon division.  Our Scottish mother was irreplaceable.

Care or Police Survivors or COPs is dedicated to helping the families of Police officers who have paid the ultimate service  and lost their lives whilst on duty. The aim is to ensure survivors have all they need to cope with such a tragedy and that they remain part of the police family as they rebuild their lives.
