Last year my mum lost her battle with lung cancer. She was incredibly brave and stoic throughout and seeing her fade away was really hard for myself and my dad. Our burden was eased by the amazing people at Compton Hospice not far from where my folks lived - they specialise in end of life care and respite but only have a few beds and don't receive much funding. Since my mum's death they have offered the family a great deal of support and I would love to give something back.

Im excited about my first ever triathlon but its not going to be easy because I had a serious hip operation last year and my gran died last month so my training has been very erratic.
