Tracy's 1180 Grocers' Challenge

Tracy Jones is raising money for The Grocers' Charity

Tracy's 1180 Grocers' Challenge · 29 May 2020

Help us support more charities combatting the effects of COVID-19! Do something fun or challenging related to the numbers 1,1,8,0, and then donate £11.80 or £118.00 (or more!) to the Grocers' Charity.

Story

I am proud to work for the Grocers' Company, which, as part of the NHS Livery Kitchen initiative, is currently cooking meals for staff at the Royal London Hospital.

The Grocers' Charity has already donated to a number of smaller charities involved with or affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, but wishes to do more, and has initiated this campaign to raise £20,000.

Why the 1180 Challenge? The Pepperers' Guild, from which the Company evolved, was first recorded in the year 1180. The Guild was formed in a spirit of mutual aid. The Challenge is about doing something fun or challenging related to the numbers 1,1,8,0, and then donate £11.80 or £118.0 (or more!) to the Charity.

So... what could be better than baking and donating 118 cupcakes for local hospitals, hospices, key workers and care homes! I plan to have delivered them by 29th of May, and hope to raise £1,180 for my efforts!
