Story

*Yet another update to below* 😂🙆

So I completed the virtual marathon in October 2020 which was amazing as I was so privileged to have so many family and friends join me along the way, and I was overwhelmed by how many came to see me finish in Kerry. It really was the best day ever. But, I had the opportunity of deferring my actual London place to this year. Unfortunately it's been rather hot training this summer and I've had a few injuries along the way. Bit disappointed as I really wanted to run it all, but instead I'll just try my best and wing it somehow (jog, run, crawl?). Really looking forward to the atmosphere in London and am so pleased to have raised nearly £3000 in total for RJAH. So many family members and friends have received brilliant treatment at 'Gobowen hospital' so thanks so much for your kind donation, I really am so grateful. 🥰 X

Update to below - so a lot has happened since my original plan to run London in April 2020. I trained through the winter storms, then it got postponed to October, and now it is going ahead as a virtual race. I never thought my first marathon would be running around hilly Mid Wales on my own. I wanted the fun experience of the crowds in London, but now I get to do it with my family and friends supporting which is better. Plus I have 24 hours to complete it which is a much better deal. Fingers crossed I can do the real thing in London 2021 instead.

On 26th April 2020 I will be running (or attempting to run) the London Marathon in aid of our local RJAH Orthopaedic Hospital in Gobowen.

I have always wanted to run the London Marathon, and I thought it would be great to achieve this in my 40th year. I applied for a charity place through RJAH because so many of my family and friends have received excellent treatment there over many years (including my Dad who had a new hip and my friend Pog who has recently had an op to relieve the constant pain in her leg), so I thought I would show my appreciation and raise money to give something back.

Donations and fundraising will be used for the benefit of the patients and staff at the hospital. Donations help the hospital to develop new treatments, provide "state of the art" equipment and facilities and to provide extra benefits for our patients.

Thank you so much, your kind donation is very much appreciated.

Tracy 😀
