Story
When volunteering for Dementia Adventure this year I saw first hand how being out and about on a subsidized holiday made a difference to people living with dementia. They were paying more attention to what was going on and smiling more. It also helped their carers, having the extra support.
Someone develops dementia every three minutes. Until a cure is found we need better ways of living with this condition. Dementia Adventure believes, with the right support, people living with dementia can continue to enjoy outdoor activities, keep active and retain a sense of adventure in their lives. We have trained thousands of individuals to think differently about dementia and enabled hundreds to enjoy a supported dementia holiday - making a huge difference to the well being of people with dementia and their families.
