We support local partners around the world to combat avoidable blindness.

Story

Please donate and help support members of the Traveleyes team, who are abseiling down the side of The Royal Armouries, to raise as much as possible for Sightsavers. They'll even be dressing for the occasion in superhero costumes.

As a team, we will be raising donations together through this page, so, as a little inspiration and to help you loosen those purse strings, below is a little bit by each member of the team which has accepted the challenge.

Amar - 'Batman is ready for action - please get your 'bat-bucks' out, Batman is on a mission and he urgently needs your support to save sight across the world!'

Hannah - In-keeping with the Traveleyes spirit of inclusivity, I'm forcibly taking part in throwing myself off the side of a building for our 10th Anniversary celebrations along with the rest of the Traveleyes team and anyone else who dares! What's more horrific, we will all be donning our lycras with our superhero abseil theme...but it's all in the name of charity! So please, help us save someone's sight and donate for this worthy cause.

Liam - For when Liam eats a banana, an amazing transformation occurs. Liam is Bananaman. Every alert for the call to action, he's ready to save peoples sight!

Lisa - What better way to conquer my terrifying fear of heights than throwing myself off the Royal Armouries! Every donation given will make it more and more worthwhile - and less scary, hopefully!

Sam - As a real superhero...SuperSam, I need to show these wannabes how it's really done! I will prove my other super senses by abseiling blindfolded, in my legendary skimpy tights. If that's not worth donating for, what is?

Christina - So it seems I've been roped (!) into an abseil down the Royal Armouries by the rest of the Traveleyes team - what's more I'm going to do it blindfolded! It's all for a great cause so any sponsorships would be much appreciated!

Jack - Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, its a quivering wreck of a man, blindfolded, dressed in tight lycra, clinging to the side of a building. If that sounds like good Saturday morning entertainment then please donate and help make the pedestrians of Leeds day!

If the above from our team spurs you on, then please click on the donate button at the top of the page and help us raise as much as we can for a fantastic cause. Or!! Why not throw on a cape of your own and join the fun? For those of you who are sighted, you could even go that step further and test your superhero nerve and sport a blindfold for your descent?

Throughout the day on 2nd May 2015, we'll be encouraging as many people as possible to cross the parapet and descend the front wall of the Armouries building. We'd just love you to throw yourself head-first into our challenge!
