At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

3 men + 1 bike + 48 hours + 704 miles = Tri-Cycle

On Friday 25th June at 5:00pm Andy, Nathan and myself will embark on a 48 hour continual bike ride raising money for Alzheimer’s Society.

Alzheimer's Society, the current nominated charity of KPMG, is the UK's leading care and research charity for people with dementia and those who care for them. They work to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Our mission is to cycle continuously, on an exercise bike, from our KPMG office in Plymouth to one of our major clients - Barchester Healthcare Limited in Inverness, Scotland with whom we have a long standing connection.

Barchester Healthcare is one of the UK's most respected care home companies, providing award winning care and services to thousands of residents throughout the UK. Today, the Barchester group cares for over 10,000 people at more than 200 different locations.

We will be cycling in a relay, ensuring that the pedals are moving at all times, enabling us to complete the 704 miles necessary to reach our destination over the course of 48 hours. This means that we will be battling sleep deprivation, and certain members of the team will be without their much needed beauty sleep!

Along with various other fundraising events we will be running in the lead up to the cycle, we would be grateful for your support. Any donations that you make will go towards helping the UK’s 750,000 sufferers of dementia.

Special thanks must go to Nuffield Health Fitness and Wellbeing who have kindly provided us with a bike for this event and everyone else who has contributed towards making this event happen.

Many thanks in advance for your support.

Adam, Andy and Nathan
