Story
UPDATE;
I did it! 10 miles in 1hr 39.5 mins (so just under the 10min/mile ave speed) so I am very happy with that!
It was a bitterly cold day, which was great for the actual run... but not so great for the 1.5hours we had to stand around in at the start & again and the end. Thankfully, apart from achey legs & a few blisters to the feet, I have no injuries to report. It was great fun & very well organised... who knows, I may even do it again next year!
Thanks for all your support & sponsorship.

Well, this is going to be quite a challenge for me.... running a whole 10 miles - help!! Luckily I will be running it with my sister Lisa (a.k.a my personal trainer) and my friend Claire so hopefully we'll spur each other on along the way.
It is all of course for a very worthwhile cause - I am running the Great South Run to raise money for Cancer Research UK because although I've always known it's a very worthy charity, in the last couple of years it's been brought home to me just how worthy....
Both of my best friends have had very close family members fight different forms of cancer... an emotional and very scary time for everyone. There is still a lot to do in the fight against cancer.... so I'm very happy to putting myself through this if it helps even just a little.
