Handstands on Kilimanjaro · 15 August 2014

The aim of Foundation for Prader-Willi Research UK (FPWR UK is to overcome the challenges of Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) through advancing research. High-quality research leads to more effective treatments and a better quality of life. FPWR UK was founded in 2010 by parents of children with PWS.

Story

At just 9 weeks old a very good friend of mines son was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called PWS (Prader-Willi Syndrome). So in August, his Dad, myself and 7 more intrepid fundraisers are attempting to climb Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania to raise awareness and money for the Foundation for Prader-Willi Research (FPWR).

Currently there is relatively little understanding about the syndrome and its challenges. The Foundation for Prader-Willi Research www.fpwr.org is a small charity that was set up by parents of children with PWS and aims to invest every penny of funds raised into high-quality research, leading to more effective treatments and eventual cure for this disorder.

I am funding this trip myself and therefore all your kind donations will go directly to the charity. If you want to follow my progress I'll be posting my handstands along the route at http://instagram.com/tristanmatt
