Country to Capital 45 · 13 January 2018

The DNRC will provide clinical rehabilitation for the armed forces and civilians. It will combine neurological, complex trauma and a full suite of rehabilitative facilities together on one site, bringing benefits that could make the establishment unique in the world.

Story

On Saturday January 13th 2018 a journey will begin.

A forty five mile journey on foot (2 of) ... and on crutches (also 2 of)... against the clock (11 hours). Did I mention it is in January - means it will be a bit chilly too.

The Country to Capital Ultra leaving the Shoulder of Mutton pub, Wendover at 8:30am to reach the final destination in Little Venice,  London before the cut off at 7:30pm.

The race will begin slowly at first and probably (very likely) get even slower as the day and the miles go on. There will be hills, tow paths and five checkpoints on the way. Where food, such as the legendary Go Beyond fruit cake, Jelly baby stashes and savoury goodies, can be found at these oases.

To help ensure the facility can open on time, my employers Travis Perkins Managed Services (TPMS) have an overall goal to raise £10,000 for The DNRC.
