Story

Hi All, 

So I am fundraising for United Response as I see the difference the charity makes to peoples lives. Having worked for the charity for nearly 17 years I have seen amazing achievements throughout the years. 

This year we celebrate 50 years of United Response and to help mark this occasion I have decided to run and swim 50 miles for 50 years - except as I like it so much I have decided to do it twice and complete 100 miles. 

This is going to be  challenge for me as I need to lose a lot of weight and also am setting myself the challenge to lose 12 1/2 stone. I am currently a few pounds off 4 stone and feeling much better. 

So how am I am going to do these miles...well you can follow my story by following my Instagram and Facebook pages as Mid Life Fitness Girl. You can see my daily updates for progress on weight loss, challenges and my daily/weekly gym/swimming antics - spoiler alert - the pictures aren't pretty and I am a bit crazy but after going through a health scare in 2022 I have been given a second chance at life and I am grabbing it with both hands so follow my journey, have a giggle at my adventures and if you can spare a few pennies to help this crazy fun loving girl achieve her goals as well as raising much needed funds for an awesome charity. 

Races/Challenges booked:

April 7th – The Easter Challenge Run (10k)

June 9th – Great North Swim (5k)

June 25th - Lake Dorney swim (2.5k)

August 2nd - Snetterton race track run (10k)

September 10th - Great North half marathon 13.1 miles (21K)

September 24th - Windsor half marathon 13.1 miles (21K)

October 8th - Royal Parks half marathon 13.1 miles (21K)

March 3rd 2024 - Cambridge half marathon 13.1 miles (21K)

April 21st 2024 - London Marathon 26.2 miles (42k) 

In total that's 95.4 miles -so will be sure to find another 10K to ensure i meet my target
