Story
On the 31st of January 2010, 24 lads hailing from Ireland, Scotland and England will be running in the world famous 'Tough Guy' endurance race event in Wolverhampton.
The Tough Guy Race consists of an eight-mile cross country winter run followed by an assault course – “The Killing Fields”. Running the course involves risking barbed wire, cuts, scrapes, burns, dehydration, hypothermia, acrophobia, claustrophobia, electric shocks, sprains, twists, joint dislocation and broken bones! But none of that will happen to us!
On January this year, 4,500 people started the race - 1,500 didn't make it to the finish line. No team has ever finished as one but this year we hope to be the first to break this record!
We are sponsored by Malones Irish Bar in Ship Row, Aberdeen and considering over half our team are Irish guys, there's a strong possibility we will run dressed as leprechauns (see attached photo).
We've all been training for various events recently but we now begin the serious training. We’ll be seen down at Aberdeen beach (for the North Sea dunks) and in local forests for lots of running and other stuff.
We are running the race for Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland (http://www.chss.org.uk/) and we would greatly appreciate it if you guys could sponsor us.
So, if you could spare us some pennies we'll run our hearts out for you and the charity. Seeing as there we are a big squad could you leave the name of the team member you wish to sponsor with your messages. Give your donations to our website at http://www.justgiving.com/TuffGoys/
