Story

The boys from the University of Gloucestershire Men's Rugby Union, plus special guests, are partaking in their second charity bike ride for Moth in a China Shop in 2017 in memory of our good friend Arthur Mason whom we miss dearly.

The bike ride will consist of 160 miles, 3 days and a lot of camping! Last year was a huge success, raising £8,000 for Moth in a China Shop. Which is why this year our new target is to raise £10,000!

Like last year we will be having a beer festival in Norfolk the day after we get back from the Bike Ride which is open to the public with live music, local beers, BBQ food and entertainment. Last year the beer festival raised an additional £4,000!

The charity helps to increase children's participation in sport and raise nutritional awareness along side it. Our main sport of interest is Rugby however we are more then willing to help any individual get into any sport, if it means a healthier younger generation. The Charity has already helped young people gain coaching qualifications in Rugby, supported a Wheel-chair Basketball team, helped a school overcome transport issues to and from sports playing fields and invests in children's future career opportunities through the yearly £50 Schools Challenge. Moth in a China Shop was set up in 2015 in memory of Arthur Mason; a 21 year old man who sadly lost his life in the summer of 2014. The charity exists to provide support in areas where sport and nutritional awareness is not well established, or rehabilitation programmes and equipment is required.
