On May 7th 2022 (2 years later than planned) University of Plymouth Ladies Football Club (UPLFC) will be coming together again for the second annual charity UPLFC ABIE (ROCKO) ROCKEFELLER TOURNAMENT. 

Back in 2019 we kick-started our fundraising ahead of this event so, as the event never managed to go ahead, we have decided to continue our fundraising for Women’s Sport Trust. 

In 2018, generations of UPLFC came together for the first time in a tournament to celebrate the life of one of UPLFC’s legendary alumni, Abigail Rockefeller (better known to the team as Rocko).  

Rocko once said ‘IT IS TIME TO MAKE AN IMPACT’ so, we are back again to do what she loved to do, play football whilst continuing to make sure that we honour her wish of making an impact.  

Women’s Sport Trust strive to raise the visibility and increase the impact of women’s sport through the promotion of diverse role models, increased media coverage and improving the funding landscape. 

UPLFC came together and picked this charity, and we feel it is a perfect cause to promote and support. We are a team of strong women who are proud to play sport and believe it is time that gender inequality within sport is eradicated. Furthermore, we feel that there is no better way to ensure that Rocko’s legacy of wanting to make an impact is continued.

So please join us in raising as much money for Women’s Sport Trust as possible, to ensure that they can continue their vital work of raising the profile of women within sport and inspiring more women to get involved.
