Story
The UOP Chaplaincy team (Connie, Angela, Amra and Carrie)
will circumnavigate Portsea Island’s 26km coastline on 26th March 2021
Our annual charity event is a socially distant walk, from the lifeboat centre at Eastney, around the entire coastline of Portsmouth and back again
Many thanks to our very generous donors so far.
The gauntlet was thrown down with our first donor's comment, "Hope you can you all keep up with Carrie!"
But seriously guys and gals, our coastal walk for the RNLI is not a race, it's more of a mindful stroll (26km!), where we will contemplate the amazing job that the RNLI do as they protect people on our UK coastlines. Portsmouth (AKA Portsea Island) certainly has a lot of coastline!!
Alongside the challenge, but when Covid restrictions allow, we will also be running our ever popular Tombola. So, please please please, keep hold of anything you have that could be donated to the raffle. Eg. Duplicate Christmas gifts, spare toiletries, anything new and non perishables. Save it all up until you are able to bring it in to Chaplaincy or pass it on to one of us at some point in the future. There will be a box for all donations by my desk.
Hopefully we can give something back to this valuable organisation or volunteers, who rely on the goodwill of people like you.
Too many people are still drowning. More than ever we need the RNLI’s help. As a charity, the RNLI depends on our donations so it can go on saving lives and keeping us and our loved ones safe. RNLI lifesavers are our lifeline. They’re the lifeboat crews who provide 24-hour search and rescue right around the UK and Ireland. The lifeguards keeping watch on 240 of the busiest beaches in the UK and Channel Islands. And the RNLI safety teams and educators working tirelessly to stop people getting into trouble in the first place. Thank you.
