Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are the VABIJADUALLI book club.  If you are wondering where the name comes from, it is made up of all the first 2 initals of our first names!!!

Like every other book club we regularly meet up to discuss the lastest book we have read or meant to have read over a glass of wine or 3. However the book is usually discussed for about 5 minutes and then we have a general gossip......However, on one particular evening Birthe had a brain wave and decided we should try and do something different and came up with the idea of sponsored walk to raise money for charity....

'Naaaaaaa, walk 10 miles?' shouted Valeria, who promptly fainted at the thought of exercise!

'I can walk 10 metres' exclaimed Janet 'but not 10 miles'

'I will do it, if I can take my fags!' said Alison

So it was decided that on the 17th of September 2010 we would take part in the 'London Night Hike' (10 miles) to raise money for a wonderful charity called Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres.

Maggie's centres are places people can turn to for help with any problems, small or large associated with cancer.  Under one roof people can access help with information, benefits advice, psychological support both individually and in groups, courses and stress reducing strategies.  People don't have to have appointments or be referred by anyone, they can just turn up and the help and support is always there.

Everything Maggie's has to offer is free of charge and all the money required to develop their programmes of support, build and run their centres is supplied by donations.

Therefore we would be extremely grateful if you could sponsor us on our walk to help raise money for this great charity.

Thank you, from all of us xxxxx
