Join Team Alzheimer's Society at the world-famous Virgin Money London Marathon and help beat the UK's biggest killer.

Story

I have decided to take on the challenge of running the London Marathon on 26th April 2020 for the Alzheimer’s Society, a charity very close to my heart.

As you may be aware, Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer.

‘Dementia’ describes a set of symptoms that may include memory loss and difficulties with thinking, problem-solving and/or language.

Dementia is caused when the brain is damaged by diseases, such as Alzheimer's or a series of strokes. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia, but not the only one.

There are currently around 850,000 people with dementia in the UK. This is projected to rise to 1.6 million by 2040 and 225,000 will develop dementia this year. That’s one every three minutes.

Alzheimer's Society is facing dementia head on and is leading the way in support, society and research. The charity is working to achieve a a vision - a world without dementia.

Your donations will help fund change campaigns, research to find a cure and support people living with dementia today.

I understand that you are all inundated with charitable requests, so I am extremely grateful for any donation, big or small. It will go to a truly fantastic cause, and is a step closer to finding a cure for this awful disease.

Please do follow my progress in training, any encouragement is welcomed (and needed!) www.instagram.com/beatricetw67

Once again, thank you for reading this, and all your support. It really is greatly appreciated.

Much Love,
