Sadly Valerie has left us, a fantastic friend to many, a wonderful mother and lovely wife who we miss enormously. 

She passed peacefully in no discomfort with her hand in mine. Val hadn’t expected to depart so soon, she wasn’t well but expected to get better and we were talking about how we would manage when she came home. We had recently discussed the future and Val had made it quite clear that when her time came she wanted a small family ceremony, which will be held on 15th December. 

Upon her request, Val's ashes will be scattered beside a tree and a memorial plaque, in the Memorial Woodlands near Bristol. What Val wants she normally gets!
