Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. My colleague has been a trustee of a small charity called New Futures Nepal (www.newfuturesnepal.org).  NFN entirely fund two orphanages, one in Kathmandu and one in Kalimpong, West Bengal, India.   

They take in infants who have been abandoned by their families through death, poverty or superstition - there persists a belief in Nepal that children born with disability represent sins committed in a previous life bringing shame on the family and are left to die. It's an area of the world where children, particularly girls, are given up to wealthy landowners in bonded slavery too - in return for their families being able to farm land.
