Education is crucial to giving people the best start in life. Tanzania is one of the world's poorest countries, and it needs our support to give its people some hope for a brighter future.

So in February next year, a team of us from Turner Broadcasting is off to Tanzania for week to help local builders with the construction of an Early Childhood Care and Development centre in the Kazimzumbwi village. The cost of the project is over £40,000, all coming from Turner and the money raised by volunteers. Every penny fundraised will be spent on the Project.

As well as paying for construction the money will also provide teacher training, learning materials, play equipment, repair and replacement of hand pumps, latrine facilities, community awareness sessions and so we you will be helping to provide a fully functioning centre which will benefit children and the village for years to come.

I will be taking photographs and reporting back from the project so you will be able to see exactly what your donation is making possible and when the school is completed I will send you full details and pictures.

The project is managed by Plan International and will form part of the Kazimzumbwi School near Dar es Salaam.
