Arthur Rank Hospice Charity supports people in Cambridgeshire living with an advanced serious illness or other life-limiting condition and those who need end-of-life care. Its ‘Outstanding’ services are provided free of charge to patients and their families to help make every moment count.

Story

Jude, John and I (along with our friends Leyton, Peter and Lucie) have just finished our ride from Venice to Rome  (c500 miles over 5 days). It was tough going - a lot of climbing - but a great challenge.

We are raising money for the Arthur Rank Hospice in Cambridge who helped care for my mother (Jude's grandmother) earlier this summer. As a family we felt very privileged that she was able to spend her last weeks there. It is a very special place that provides hospice care for the East Anglia region. It is expanding its services to provide 'hospice at home'. Your support will help Arthur Rank develop these caring services further.

Jude also has a fundraising page http://www.justgiving.com/Jude-Smith14. So far - together with other pledges and donations - we have collectively raised over £3000.

Jody Cundy, the Paralympic cyclist and medal  winner at London 2012, has also been supporting our ride. He was born in Cambridgeshire.

Jody said 'Good luck all. It is a great cause. Keep peddling'.

People have been incredibly generous and we are very grateful for all the support which really helped keep us all going.
