Virgin London Marathon 2016 · 24 April 2016 ·

Diabetes UK is the charity leading the fight against the UK's devastating and fastest growing health crisis, working to create a world where diabetes can do no harm. It’s a fight that involves all of us – sharing knowledge and taking diabetes on together. Join us.

Story

The Alloa ladies (Jenifer Gibson, Lillian Gray, Justine Lyon, Joanne O'Rourke & Kerry McFarlane) and myself are running the Alloa half-marathon on 20th March 2016 in memory of our late friend Chanel Alexander who sadly lost her battle at a very young age due to complications with type 1 Diabetes.

I am then participating in the Virgin London Marathon on 24th April 2016

All funds raised through this page, sponsor sheets and cash collection tins placed within local shops will be going direct to Diabetes UK and will be used towards their work including the costs of providing workshops and support groups for individuals with diabetes and their families.

UPDATE:  The girls and myself smashed the Alloa half-marathon on 20th March, the sun was shining and it was a great day all round.  "After" pictures below!

My Statement “This is a great honour to be selected to run for a charity so close to my heart and to participate in one of the largest fundraising events in the world. This is probably one of the hardest challenges I have set myself to date however seeing how fundraising changes lives makes it worth the while, 1 day of pain, 26 miles, can make a massive difference to people who have a daily struggle with Diabetes. With the help from my team The Alloa Ladies who recently completed our local half marathon to assist with fundraising, the sponsorship and support from family, friends, customers and work colleagues I’m confident I will achieve the fundraising target”.

All donations greatly appreciated. Let’s help change lives for the better.
