2009 GRIM Challenge · 5 December 2009 ·

Victim Support is an independent charity. We are dedicated to supporting people affected by crime and traumatic incidents in England and Wales and we put them at the heart of our organisation. We provide specialist help and services to support people to cope and recover.

Story

Hello!!

I am doing the GRIM challenge in December which is basically running/wading/crawling my way through an 8 mile off road circuit - they use it to test military tanks so it'll be nice and churned up!  Here's the link if you want to check it out: http://www.grimchallenge.co.uk/grim-original/faq.php This will result in me being soaking wet, covered in mud and freezing.  Added on to the fact that I hate long distance running, or actually any kind of running really, I figured that I'd need something to keep me motivated half way through and so have decided to support a really worthwhile cause - Victim Support.  Victim Support is the independent charity for victims and witnesses of crime right across England and Wales.  They support people just after they have been a victim of crime and also support witnesses through their evidence-giving which can be a really daunting experience.  You'd imagine this would be something the Government would provide, but as they don't, that is where Victim Support steps in.

I know it's tough out there money wise, so if you're not able to give any material support, then your moral support will also be greatly appreciated :)
