During the last 18 months of his life, Simon helped me find a bike, shared his experience of the Coast 2 Coast bike ride, gave me loads of equipment and inspired me to follow in his tyre tracks. He wanted to drive up to meet me at the overnight stops; but now he will able to go the whole route with me, in my heart.

Louise and I are cycling from Workington to Sunderland over 2 1/2 days, from sunrise(ish) on the 1st June to lunchtime on the 3rd. It is a 140mile ride with a 400m increase in altitude at the highest point.

Simon spoke highly of The Christie Hospital; I'm sure he would be happy for sponsorship money to go into research and development to help others battle against cancer.
