Story
In August last year our beloved Grandpa and Dad, Peter Gratton, lost his battle with cancer. His last few days were made so much easier by the amazing support provided by local charity ELF (Exeter Leukaemia Fund); a lot of Peter's family had travelled from across the country to see him and ELF provided them with an apartment next to the hospital so that they could be close by. This meant that Peter was able to say goodbye to his children and grandchildren; something which would have meant a lot to him, and definitely did to them.
We would like to give something back to this wonderful local charity. As Peter was more energetic than most octogenarians (and indeed most of his children and grandchildren), we thought it fitting to undertake a challenge involving exercise. Peter was Devon born and bred so our challenge will see us covering Devon by bicycle on August bank holiday weekend - visiting those places which meant so much to both him and our much missed Grandma and Mum, Valerie.
The family taking part in this challenge range from 6 to somewhere past middle age (!); a great majority of whom haven't been on a bike for over 10 years - which makes this challenge all the more worthwhile of your donations!
Many thanks xxx
