Story
Hello!
Welcome to our donation page, thank you for getting this far!
We entered into Manchester RAG’s (raising & giving) Jailbreak fundraiser as team: VICTORIOUS SECRET!
This is just a little note to thank you all for the generous donations you made supporting Olivia and I in our charity jailbreak. All your contributions have helped support a really great cause and we feel we have made a real difference with your help.
Our Journey…
As the jailbreak started 200 of us ran out of the student union and headed on our way. Olivia and I ran into Piccadillly Gardens and hitched a lift from Dunkan the cabbie to Manchester airport. With little luck from the airlines, we quickly overted our strategy and headed to the car rental offices of the airort.
Here we met a lovely newly wed couple who were headed to Aberdeen! By sweet talking The Hendersons, Olivia and I started the second leg of our Journey- To Scotland!
With all our hope pinned on the kindness of the Glaswegians, we arrived in Glasgow airport that evening (however, as it is no london, their airport was pretty dead at 10pm- which allowed us to really explore Glasgow Town Centre that night- dressed up as 'Jailbreakers'!)
Back to the airport for 4am with such hope on Jet2 to send us off to Faro- alas it was not meant to be as there is no such thing as a fully comp ticket!
once again, thinking on our feet (with a significant lack of sleep at this point) we headed back to the town centre and tried our luck with the train lines- yet virgin trains were having none of it! so- to the coaches! and it was national express that took us home (along the scenic route!)...
SO in short, From the Student Union- To Deansgate- To Manchester Airport- To Glasgow Airport- To Glasgow Town Center- To Glasgow Airport- To Glasgow Town Centre- To Carlise- To Milton Keynes- To Golders Green- To London Victoria. THE END
(thats 670 miles in 30 hours!)
Once again,
Thank you so much for your support!
Lots of Love xxx
If you want to know ore about Jailbreak….
Jailbreak is a student event that has been running with Manchester RAG for years now- and this is how it works:
From when the horn is sounded at 4pm this Friday, the 28th October- we have 30 hours to get as far away from Manchester as possible! Previous ‘Jailbreakers’ have been as successful as reaching Dubai, New York and Europe, where as others just about make it down the M6! The twist involved is that we are not allowed to spend even a single penny when travelling in that 30 hours- and hope that our great gift of the gab can get us around the world and back!!
Nicki and I are doing this all in the hope to support KidsCan, a fantastic local charity based in Salford, Manchester. KidsCan's aim is to continue to aid the production of new innovative cures and treatments for children with Cancer.
When looking at the facts, it really is shocking that today 1 in 500 children in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By supporting us in our expedition, you will be contributing to a great cause that really impacts the lives of little ones.
Nicki and I would really appreciate your support! So please make any donation you can!
We will be collecting donations up until Friday 4th November, and if you know anyone who would like to donate to this cause, please forward this email! KidsCan Registered Charity Number: 1094946
